Curium (Kourion Beach) is a spacious sand-and-pebble Blue Flag beach below the cliffs of ancient Kourion, west of Limassol — about 1 km long, some 20 km from the city. Lifeguards are on duty from April to October; there are sunbeds, showers and fish tavernas, and a beach day here combines well with a visit to the ancient amphitheatre. The water is shallow at the water's edge but then deepens sharply and quickly — with small children enter carefully and keep them close to shore. The beach is also popular with windsurfers. The nearest playground is about 1 km away.

A paid botanical park of herbs and lavender in the village of Avgorou, not far from Ayia Napa. The grounds have 9 themed organic herb gardens, a living maze of cypress hedges (over 600 m of paths, about 2,000 sq m, with a viewing tower), a woodland shaped like the outline of the island of Cyprus ('The Woodland'), lavender gardens, an essential-oil distillation room and a shop selling natural products. The Botanicus Bistro cafe-restaurant serves a vegetarian menu and herbal teas (a cup of tea is included in the ticket). The park is open all year and closed on Mondays; under 4s go free. There's parking, toilets (including accessible and baby-changing facilities) and paths suitable for pushchairs.
An art retreat and craft centre in the mountain village of Agioi Vavatsinias. Alongside its longer retreats for grown-ups, it runs family workshops: parents and children make mosaics together, build and decorate bee hotels for solitary bees, model clay and make paper. The tutors are used to groups of mixed ages and experience, and the day ends with lunch at Chloe’s Kitchen.
