The national Scout association of Cyprus and a WOSM member; the island's first troop was already meeting in Nicosia in 1914. Boys and girls from pre-school age upwards gather in local troops across the island for hikes and camping, life outdoors, knots and orienteering, teamwork and service to the community. There are Sea Scouts too, with their activities on the water.
Strovolos, Nicosia
CyprusShows is a Limassol agency that treats children's events as a department in their own right, with its own catalogue of programmes. Entertainers and costumed characters, a bubble show and a paper show, a science show, a foam party, creative workshops and party styling are all kept in-house rather than farmed out. There are ready-made themed scripts as well: a Nerf party, Fort Boyard, a princess show, Beauty and the Beast and the Malysharyky theatre show. Beyond birthdays the agency runs graduation parties, christenings and gender reveals, and it works across the island — Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaka and Protaras are all named by them.

The Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra belongs to the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation, and the road into it begins earlier than one might suppose. The junior stage, SymphoPedia, takes children aged seven to twelve, provided they have already had at least a year of lessons on a symphonic instrument or the piano, no matter where: instrumental ensembles, rhythmic training, theory, a vocal workshop and a children's choir, meeting on Saturdays at the Acropolis Lyceum in Nicosia, with the orchestra's own buses bringing children in from other towns free of charge. Entry to the Academy comes younger still — up to eight for violin, viola and cello, up to nine for winds and percussion — and no previous experience is asked for at all; scholars study on partial scholarships, twice a week, from September to May. For older students there is the choir, open from sixteen. The orchestra now ranks among the leading youth orchestras in Europe, and most players in the professional Cyprus Symphony Orchestra began here.

Its official name is The Cyprus Planetarium, the largest planetarium in the Eastern Mediterranean; it operates in partnership with the national telecommunications company CYTA. It is in Episkopio, a suburb of Nicosia (not in the city centre). It shows dome films about the Solar System, the stars and space exploration, and has a VR room and a helioscope for observing the Sun. The format impresses children: the image fills the whole dome for an effect you can't get on a flat screen.

Dance Academy Cyprus in Strovolos lives and breathes Greek and Cypriot dance. It houses a Cypriot folk dance school named after Grigoris Assiotis, carrying on the school that this pioneer of Cypriot dance founded back in 1948. The academy runs its own zeibekiko festival, its dancers have appeared on RIK television, and in 2024 they took first place at the gala show of the WADF championship in Athens. Alongside folk dance there are classes in dancehall and belly dance, with groups in Strovolos and in the village of Deftera.
