3rd Limassol Kantada Festival in Memory of Kostas Grigoriou

The Epilogi Cultural Movement stages the third Limassol Kantada Festival, held in memory of Kostas Grigoriou. The organisers' aim from the start has been to rescue the kantada, the island's serenade tradition, from its image as a carnival novelty and give it a proper place in the city's cultural calendar. Epilogi's maestro Michalis Grigoriou is in overall charge of the programme. Four groups take part: the male vocal ensemble Ilandron, the Limassol Kantadori, the Cypriot Kantadori and the Moderni Keri choir, and there is also a musical show, A Stroll Through Old Athens. Expect an evening in Epilogi's courtyard that harks back to old Limassol, when the kantada was in its heyday. The festival runs from 6pm to 9pm and entry is free.
