Workshops & classesOrchestra of Friendly Ghosts: a Musical Halloween Workshop at MnogoknigA cheerful rather than spooky Halloween workshop, run by the bookshop together with LYRA Music & Arts. Each child makes a funny little ghost by hand, then gives it a name, a personality and a voice all of its own. Next comes a go on percussion and noise instruments, with the sounds woven into a short musical tale. It all ends with a performance by the whole orchestra of friendly ghosts, and fancy dress is very much encouraged. In the science lab they make glow-in-the-dark slime and creepy polymer worms, then conjure up a witch's fog with dry ice. Over in the cookery lab it is edible witches' fingers and decorating Halloween gingerbread. There are mummy makeovers, madcap relay races, games and competitions too, and the whole afternoon promises to be just scary enough and just sweet enough. Spookily friendly hosts greet the little ones at the witches' potion station, and the party is presided over by the Big Pumpkin. Children brew a witch's punch, model funny little monsters, paint a spider's lair, mix fizzing magic potions and decorate a giant pumpkin.
