Theatre & showsPeeping Tom (1960): STYX Screening — Look CloserSTYX Film Encounters screens Michael Powell's Peeping Tom from 1960 as part of Look Closer, a programme about what the camera reveals not only about the people in front of it but about those of us watching. Its central figure, Mark Lewis, is a quiet camera operator who secretly films the women he murders, trying to capture the very moment fear crosses their faces. From the opening scenes Powell makes the audience look through Mark's lens, drawing the viewer uncomfortably into his gaze. The film was met with real hostility in Britain on release, yet its reputation has since been substantially reassessed and it is now widely seen as one of Powell's major works. The screening is at 5.30pm with English and Greek subtitles, and entry is €5.Sun, 1 Nov5.30pmNicosia, Pantheon Theatre, Nicosia€€5
