About the event
The French string quartet Diotima, founded in 1996 by graduates of the Paris Conservatoire, returns to Nicosia five years after its Cyprus debut and in its thirtieth anniversary year. Brahms's First Quartet in C minor opens the evening, and Beethoven's Quartet No. 16 in F major closes it. In between comes Georges Aperghis's Second Quartet, commissioned by Radio France and premiered by Diotima themselves only a few months ago. The players are Yun-Peng Zhao and Léo Marillier on violin, Franck Chevalier on viola and Alexis Descharmes on cello. The concert begins at 8.30pm and lasts 70 minutes, with an interval. Tickets are €25, or €20 for pensioners, students and Pharos Arts Foundation members, and disabled visitors go free.
