The 39 Steps in Nicosia

About the event

Four actors, more than a hundred roles and not a moment to catch your breath: Theatro Lexi stages Patrick Barlow's The 39 Steps, adapted from John Buchan's novel and Alfred Hitchcock's film. Richard Hannay is drawn into a spy plot after a mysterious woman is murdered, and every attempt to clear his name lands him in deeper trouble. Characters are swapped at breakneck speed, so the suspense keeps tipping over into gloriously absurd noir comedy. Directed by Marina Vronti and performed in Greek in Makis Papadimitriou's translation, the show runs for 1 hour 25 minutes. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 20:00 and Sunday ones at 18:30, with tickets from €22.
