The Red Letter: music-theatre performance in Paphos

About the event

The Red Letter, a music-theatre tribute to the hero and poet Evagoras Pallikarides, arrives in Cyprus after moving audiences in Athens. It tells the true story of a great platonic love, set against the history of a whole people and the EOKA liberation struggle. Through scenes, letters and songs set to Pallikarides' own poetry, the show reveals the young man behind the hero. Salina Gavala writes, directs and plays Lya, with Giorgos Chouvartas as Pallikarides, Evridiki as narrator, Neoklis Neofytidis at the piano and a local choir joining them. The production is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus. Tickets start at €20 and the performance begins at 20:00.
