The Triplaroi and the Dragon of the Apple Tree: a Cypriot Folk Tale by Theatro Antilogos

About the event

Ten years on, Theatro Antilogos brings The Triplaroi and the Dragon of the Apple Tree back to the stage, a Cypriot folk tale more than three centuries old. It reached us as recorded by Lambros Polykarpou, in an award-winning edition illustrated with Hambis's famous engravings, and versions of it survive in Greece, Turkey, Albania, Russia, Italy and Norway. The new staging draws on the book itself, on the art of oral storytelling and on the company's 2016 production directed by the late Alexia Papalazarou, which toured theatres and schools across Cyprus until 2020. It is a story of friendship, family, courage, adventure and love for audiences young and old. Performed in Cypriot dialect, it runs on Sundays from 25 October to 22 November at 11am.
