About this organisation
The Independent Zone is an occupational therapy centre in Strovolos, working with both children and adults. Therapists see clients at the centre, in schools and at home, and the centre offers speech therapy as well. Work begins with an assessment of motor skills, sensory processing, attention, self-care and how a child manages everyday tasks. Sessions are play-based and sensory-led, covering handwriting, calming strategies and baby reflexes that have stayed active for longer than expected. In schools the therapist sets personal goals for each child and works alongside teachers and families.
