An Evening of Operetta: Singing in the Storm

About the event

Cypriot classical singers take the audience into the world of Greek operetta with favourite excerpts from the works of Theofrastos Sakellaridis. The programme includes The Daughter of the Storm, Picnic, I Want to See the Pope and The Godfather, alongside other popular songs of the era, full of romance, humour and nostalgia. The idea is a brief escape into the joy of song despite life's storms, because even when the tempest rages there is always a picnic going on somewhere. The soloists are joined by the Epilogi Cultural Movement choir and a five-piece ensemble, directed by Angela Kleopatra Saroglou with musical direction by Michalis Grigoriou. It runs for 70 minutes. Tickets from €10, or €15 standard.
