Bach Extended – Violin Solo: Jean-Samuel Bez at Technopolis 20

About the event

French violinist Jean-Samuel Bez brings Bach Extended, a solo recital spanning three centuries of violin music. At its heart is Bach's Partita No. 2 in D minor, its movements interleaved with works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Bach is the thread that runs from the folk-inspired worlds of Bartók and Enescu to the meditative music of Franz Rechsteiner, the rich polyphony of Ysaÿe, the virtuosity of Kreisler and the tango rhythms of Piazzolla. Over the evening, four strings move from a single melodic line to the illusion of several voices at once. Bez gives more than a hundred concerts a year. The recital runs from 8pm to 9.20pm, and tickets are €12 plus a 30 cent service fee.
