Humble Earths: Beyond the Western Frame — Transcultural Modernisms

About the event

Humble Earths: Beyond the Western Frame sets work by contemporary artists from Cyprus, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom in conversation with pieces from the Limassol Municipal Art Gallery's own collection, among them Christoforos Savva, Stass Paraskos and Glyn Hughes. Taking a broader view of modernism, it explores how history, society, politics and ecology keep shaping the art of today. Janis Jefferies curates; the project was initiated by In Situ and is organised by Sotto Voce Contemporary Arts. The opening runs from 6pm to 10pm, with words of welcome at 7.30pm. Afterwards the show is open on weekdays from 8am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, and admission is free.
