About the event
This year's Annual Lecture in Memory of Constantine Leventis turns to Greek scholar-physicians of the 15th to 19th centuries: figures known for their work in literature, the arts, science and politics, whose medical careers slipped quietly into the background. The speaker is Dr Georgios Laganas, a retired military physician, neurologist, psychiatrist and philologist who was Director of Healthcare of the National Guard in the 1980s. The evening also sees the launch of a new book on the art collection of Georgios and Markisia Laganas, which the couple plan to donate to the gallery. The lecture is in Greek, begins at 19:30 and the doors close at 19:40. Booking is required by 20 November.
