About the event

This day trip heads for the highest point in Cyprus along the Artemis Trail, a 7km loop around the summit of Mount Olympus, or Chionistra, at roughly 1,850 metres. The going is gentle for most of the way, with only a short climb of 200 to 300 metres after the ski centre. Walkers pass black pine forest, including two trees thought to be around 500 years old, rare flora, striking rock formations and the remains of Venetian fortifications from 1571, with views over the Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia districts. Lunch follows at Chrysanthis Tavern in Kakopetria, and qualified outdoor fitness instructors look after the group throughout. The coach leaves Nicosia at 07:00 with pick-ups in Kofinou and Limassol, though you can also drive yourself. Packages range from €15 to €45 depending on transport and lunch, and booking is essential.
