Janis Rafa at NiMAC: A Sign of Prosperity to the Dreamer

About the event

Janis Rafa's 2014 video work A Sign of Prosperity to the Dreamer is on show as part of the exhibition Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear. The bodies of birds killed by illegal hunting drift slowly skywards, lifted against gravity by a run of underground explosions. Their almost hypnotic rise turns into a meditation on loss, violence and the traces left behind in landscapes that look entirely peaceful. The piece is curated by Evagoria Dapola and can be seen from 17:30 to 22:30.
