Memory of Famagusta: Photography and Poetry Exhibition (Poetry MOVES)

About the event

Memory of Famagusta sets up a conversation between image, word and the memory of the city. Photographs of Famagusta as it is today, by Erato Kantouna and Katerina Christodoulou, hang alongside poetry by Kyriakos Charalambides, Niki Katsaouni, Klairi Angelidou and Niki Marangou. Old family portraits of Famagusta residents, taken in the town's photo studios and gathered through an open call, sit beside the twelve best poems from a themed poetry call, which are also read aloud. Installations complete the picture, including one made with keys, along with a new video drawing on the photographs and on a poem by Niki Katsaouni set to music by the composer Michalis Andronikou. The exhibition is part of the Poetry MOVES festival.
