November's Music Talks: Jacopo Peri and the Birth of Opera

About the event

This month's Music Talks turn to Jacopo Peri, the Italian composer and singer, and to the birth of opera. Leading the conversation are Iosif Hadjikyriacos, curator of the Stavrides Archive in Larnaca, Demetrios Michaelides, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology at the University of Cyprus, and Costas Severis, President of the Costas & Rita Severis Foundation. Guests are invited to bring their own experience, passion and curiosity about music rather than simply listen, and the discussion flows over a glass of wine. It starts at 6.30pm and admission is free.
