About the event
The Cyprus Oral History Association is running two evening sessions on how personal testimony is gathered, recorded and put to good use. The course mixes theory with hands-on, experiential exercises, covers method and ethics, and assumes no previous experience. The first meeting looks at the roots of oral history, preparing an interview, archiving accounts and using digital tools; the second turns to approaching different narrators, active listening and drawing on testimony for local history, documentaries, exhibitions and guided tours. The speakers are Professor Georgios A. Kazamias, Iliana Koulafeti, Ioanna Alexandrou, Maria Galanou, Andreas Christofi and Christos Peristianis. Sessions run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm with no more than 20 places, booked by email at [email protected] or on 96571658, and a certificate goes to those who attend the full programme. The fee for both sessions is €20 for members, €35 for non-members and €25 for undergraduates with a student card.
