About the event
Pedieos's Footsteps follows the river that Nicosia grew up around and asks what water has meant to the city's people over the centuries. Starting from works in the Costas and Rita Severis Collection, children study landscapes and scenes of daily life to see how the river shaped the city's growth, its farming and its trade. They pick out the flowers, trees and other plants of the riverbanks in the paintings and see how artists in different periods captured the Cypriot landscape. To finish, they draw, cut and assemble a collage of the river, a Nicosia of their own where nature meets the town. Led by Kyriakos Theocharous, the session runs from 11am to 12.30pm in Greek and costs €10 per child.
